Henry Luce Foundation is pleased to introduce the 2026-2027 Luce Scholarssixteen remarkable young leaders preparing to embark on a transformative year of immersive living and professional experience across Asia.

The 2026-2027 Luce Scholars cohort represents the best of the next generation: individuals who are curious, driven, and approach the world with a deep sense of responsibility,” said Aida Gureghian, Program Director for Leadership, Henry Luce Foundation. “They are asking bold questions about justice, sustainability, and community—and are eager to listen and engage.”

Chosen through a rigorous and competitive application process, the Scholars have expertise in social justice, energysustainable food systems, and more. Each Scholar will be placed in a role tailored to their experience and aspirationsdesigned to sharpen their leadership and build lasting bridges across cultures.

“The most consequential learning happens when you step into unfamiliar territory and let the world challenge your assumptions,” said Jonathan Holloway, President and CEO, Henry Luce Foundation. “That is precisely what the Luce Scholars Program asks of these sixteen exceptional individuals, and it is exactly what this moment in our world demands. At a time when the impulse to turn inward is strong, choosing to cross borders, build relationships, and invest in mutual understanding is itself an act of civic courage.

The Luce Scholars Program is an experiential fellowship that connects emerging American leaders with immersive professional placements in Asia. Over thirteen months, Scholars receive living stipends and language training in addition to their individually crafted work placements. The program’s mission is to cultivate more informed, compassionate, and interconnected relationships between the United States and the countries, cultures, and people of Asia.

The 2026-2027 Luce Scholars will bring their skills and interests into communities across Asia,” Holloway continued. “And what they bring back—deeper understanding and a richer sense of our shared humanity—will matterNot just for them, but for all of us working toward a more just and democratic world. I am honored to welcome them into the Luce community.

As this cohort joins the broader Luce Scholars network, they carry with them the potential to make a lasting impact in their placements, fields, and the world. We look forward to following their journeys and celebrating their growth in the months ahead.

Congratulations to the 2026-2027 Luce Scholars!
